I hold a PhD in Linguistics. In the years 1997-2017, I worked as a foreign language teacher educator at university level. In that role I ran a large number of teacher training workshops, including INSETT events. I also collaborated with the British Council Poland as an education/CALL consultant and a member of the editing team for the web portal The British Studies Webpages. W latach 2014-2015 byłem pracownikiem naukowym Instytutu Badań Edukacyjnych w Warszawie, prowadząc badania nad realizacją podstawy programowej w szkołach ponadpodstawowych, a w okresie od 2016-2019 r. byłem redaktorem naczelnym The Journal of Translator Education and Translation Studies. Currently, I am involved in translator education. I am also a textbook appraisal expert for the Polish Ministry of Education and Science, as well as President of the Consortium for Translation Education Research (CTER).
I am a member of three professional organisations: the European Society for Translation Studies (EST), the Consortium for Translation Education Research (CTER) and the Polish Association of Applied Linguistics (PTLS), as well as a reviewer for international academic journals, including Interpreter and Translator Trainer (Routledge), Teaching English with Technology (IATEFL PL), English Language Teaching (Toronto, Kanada), International Journal of Continuing Engineering Education and Language Learning (Olney, Bucks, Wlk. Brytania) oraz Journal of Education (Tbilisi, Gruzja).
I systematically deliver papers at national/international conferences and publish academic publications. My research interests cover: technology-aided translator education, Technology-Enhanced Language Learning (TELL) and the development of intercultural competence.
